The moon and The phoenix
The phoenix loved Earth's moon,
but the moon
bewitched by the stars,
told the phoenix to love
the stars too.
The moon was
the universe to the phoenix,
and each time the phoenix
circled him, he turned his dark side
to him, denying its
light.
In despair, the phoenix
looked at the stars,
but the stars did not
have anywhere to land,
and they were distant,
far too distant to love.
The phoenix found another moon,
Titus,
but the Earth's moon was
of the fierce cratered type
and threw his gravity to
do all he could to
disrupt the phoenix's landing.
But the phoenix, after all,
had the heart of fire,
and would not be denied.
The phoenix, he would
be reborn, and united
with Titus,
safe, for now, by their
place in space.

Couldn't be better.
Had some help getting here
from people who care.
Mom and father
made the difference.
Parts of them
inside of me.
Knowing I'm special
makes me reverent.
Blessed having
people in my lives
to write songs and
poems only for me.
They know I'll
matter some day.
Soon I'll be
old enough
to read these words.
Then I'll say
for all to hear,
couldn't be better.
